Leaf 281 – Looking Back

This is a poem written during my
first or second trip to Japan back in 2003. I’m pretty sure it was something I
saw whilst wandering around the Asakusa area of Tokyo. I took the accompanying
photograph only a year or two ago in Yokohama.
Primping the pooch
in her handbag,
the lady stops
to adjust its little coat.
